BIO

ERIN BLOOM, lead soprano: Erin's early vocal training and flair for drama first led her to musical theater. As a teen, she garnered lead roles in Sacramento area productions of "Guys and Dolls", "Bye Bye Birdie", "Annie Get Your Gun", and "Jesus Christ Superstar". She was active working with children in productions at the Eaglet Children 's Theater, and ventured into pop music for a time as a vocalist for the John Maniaci Band and Foxfire. She abandoned theatre to pursue UCLA film school and built a career as a successful television writer/producer, for shows including "Geraldo", "Montel" and "The CBS Morning Show". While in LA and New York, she performed at cabaret nights, gaining an appreciation of vocal jazz. She got married, became a full-time mother, and rekindled her interest in singing upon studying vocal jazz repertoire with Richard Kalman. She brings to Con Alma a bright, imaginative style that adds to the group's rich blend. Erin's interest in musical variety continues to be evidenced by her work with the Celtic band Pladdohg, in addition to being a member of Con Alma.
